Mary Farley
Broker/Owner and Sales Director
Moving to Marfa for a temporary sabbatical in 2004, I quickly became enamored of the town and the stunning landscape of the high desert. Having worked in the art business in New York for years, Marfa was a easy fit. Buying an old adobe compound near the center of town and beginning renovations started an interest in real estate in Marfa that began my career as a licensed real estate agent. I opened Marfa Vista Real Estate in 2013 to specialize in Marfa properties and to provide long term management services through the company. Having extensive experience in all aspects of Marfa real estate transactions, I can help you correctly price, sell and negotiate purchases. Buying and selling real estate in Marfa is a unique experience and we are here to try and make that experience a professional and pleasant one.
After completing my undergraduate work in fine art at the University of Texas, I moved to Manhattan where I worked in the art world in various capacities for many years. Having always had an interest in psychology, I decided to pursue a graduate degree in forensic psychology from John Jay Criminal Justice College as well as a graduate degree in clinical social work from NYU. I worked with a forensic clientele in a private clinic in Manhattan. After working in a capacity as a therapist and supervisor in a clinic setting, I started to transition to private practice. At this point I decided to take a break and spend some time in Marfa before settling into a full time practice. Needless to say the charms of Marfa prevailed and Marfa has become my primary residence.
